Gazing wistfully into the distance,
A sigh escapes a young girl's lips.
"My dearest beloved," she whispered to herself,
"I love you so.
I don't know how, I just do."
"But you've caused me so much pain…"
"And yet…" she mused,
"I must admit
That loving you has made me a better person."
For after her grandfather passed away,
And her aunt was torn from her,
She all but lost faith in love.
"But that was impossible!" she ejaculated.
"I fantasized that which is not,
But now I live what is."
She did not know if that revelation was good or bad,
Merely that it was a revelation.
But she felt the realization of it
Must be something to smile about.
For it was not just that she loved a man.
It was the very act of loving that he had awakened in her.
Her cold heart had melted,
And once again,
She had learnt how to love.
